1. Diploma Policy

The Department of Occupational Therapy awards a Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy to students who have acquired the required credits in accordance with the course regulations, completed the required number of years of study, and are deemed to have acquired the following abilities.

• Acquire the basic knowledge necessary to practice occupational therapy. (Knowledge and Skills)
• Students have acquired the basic knowledge necessary to study and develop occupational therapy. (Knowledge and Skills)
• Acquire basic skills in occupational therapy evaluation and occupational therapy treatment. (Knowledge and Skills)
• Students have acquired the writing skills, interpersonal communication skills, and basic presentation and discussion skills necessary for practicing occupational therapy (thinking, judgment, expression).
• Based on occupational therapy theory, we can respect the autonomy and individuality of each individual in improving daily activities (interest, motivation, attitude).
• To practice evidence-based occupational therapy (EBOT), students will be able to identify problems, collect, analyze, and organize the information necessary for solving them, and find logical solutions (thinking, judgment, and expression).

2. Curriculum Policy

In order to cultivate the knowledge and skills necessary for occupational therapists, the Department of Occupational Therapy has organized an educational curriculum that systematically arranges liberal arts subjects, specialized foundation subjects, and specialized subjects.
You will be eligible to take the national exam for occupational therapists.

1. Education content

   (knowledge/skills)

   • The specialized foundational subjects that form the basis for the acquisition of knowledge and skills for occupational therapists include the following subjects: "Structure and function of the human body, and physical and mental development," "The origins of disease and disability, and promotion of the recovery process," and "Principles of health, medical care, welfare, and rehabilitation."
   • The following subjects are offered as specialized subjects to enhance expertise as an occupational therapist: "Basic Occupational Therapy," "Occupational Therapy Management," "Occupational Therapy Evaluation," "Occupational Therapy," "Community Occupational Therapy," and "Clinical Training."

   • A group of "clinical training" subjects are provided to cultivate practical skills and communication abilities in clinical situations.
   • Occupational Therapy Research Methods Seminars I and II are included to develop the ability to explore issues in the field of occupational therapy.

   • Based on occupational therapy theory, occupational therapy for improving daily living activities is designed to foster an attitude that respects the autonomy and individuality of the individual in improving daily living activities.
2. Education method
   • In order to develop problem-finding and problem-solving skills as well as logical thinking skills, we will implement an education that emphasizes active self-exploration of issues (active learning). We will encourage independent learning before and after classes.
   • In order to cultivate intellectual curiosity, i.e. the ability to discover problems, and to improve communication skills, we incorporate interactive and student-participation teaching methods such as group learning.
   • In order to acquire basic skills as an occupational therapist, clinical training is conducted in the form of a clinical clerkship (clinical participation type clinical training).
   • Provide students with sufficient feedback on the results of their evaluations.
3. educational evaluation
   • In order to grasp learning outcomes, the goals to be achieved in each subject will be clearly stated and grades will be evaluated strictly.
   • In addition to written examinations, we provide multifaceted, high-quality evaluation using OSCE (Objective-Survey Clinical Examination), portfolios, rubrics, etc.
