Graduate School of Rehabilitation Science Rehabilitation Science Major (Master's Program)
1. Diploma Policy
The Graduate School of Rehabilitation Science awards a Master's degree in Rehabilitation Science to students who have acquired the required credits in accordance with the course regulations, completed the required number of years of study, and are deemed to have acquired the following abilities:
- Able to keep up with advances in knowledge and technology in the fields of rehabilitation and community health support. (Knowledge and Skills)
- Able to support people with disabilities in participating in society and living in the community. (Knowledge and Skills)
- Able to raise awareness of disease and disability prevention among local residents and actively support daily health promotion. (Knowledge and Skills)
- Able to accurately grasp the current needs related to rehabilitation and community health support, and respond flexibly with a broad perspective. (Thinking, judgment, expression)
- Students have acquired the ability to carry out research, compile research results into a paper, and present them (thinking, judgment, expression).
- In the team approach in the fields of rehabilitation and community health support, you will understand collaboration with other professions and be able to play a central or leading role in revitalizing the team. (Interest, motivation, attitude)

2. Curriculum Policy
The Graduate School of Rehabilitation Science, Department of Rehabilitation Science, has organized an educational curriculum consisting of "basic subjects," "specialized subjects (specialized basic fields, clinical application fields, and community health support fields)," and "research guidance" in order to train highly specialized professionals who can contribute to solving problems in the fields of rehabilitation and community health support.

- In order to learn the latest knowledge and techniques in the fields of rehabilitation and community health support, and how to support the lives of people with disabilities and the elderly, there are three specialized subject groups: "Basic Specialized Field," which provides the basic theory of treatment; "Clinical Application Field," which connects to problem-solving in clinical settings; and "Community Healthy Life Support," which focuses on prevention.

- "Health and Welfare Policy Theory" will be included as a compulsory subject in order to train personnel who can respond broadly to the needs of the region and the times.
- In order to teach the knowledge and skills that are the foundation of research, courses such as "Special Lectures in Statistics," "Special Lectures in Physical Function Analysis," and "Practice in Physical Function Analysis" are offered.
- "Presentation Techniques" is included as a basic subject so that students can explain their research in a way that is understandable to people outside their field, express themselves in English in international situations, and learn presentation methods that produce excellent visual effects.
(Interest, enthusiasm, attitude)
- "Specialized Studies in Rehabilitation Management" and "Specialized Studies in Rehabilitation Science" will be included as basic subjects to train personnel who will play a central role in multi-disciplinary collaboration and stimulate team activities.
- With the main goal of improving people's health and quality of life and preventing disease, we have included a "Special Topic in Public Health" as a basic subject and will raise interest in the areas of preventive rehabilitation and community health support.
- In light of the importance of research ethics education, a "Special Lecture on Research Ethics" will be included as a required foundational course, in which students will learn about the basic research ethics and attitudes expected of researchers.
- Education method
- Research guidance involves the writing of a master's thesis and scientific exploration of issues in the fields of rehabilitation and health support.
- Research supervisors and other graduate school faculty will act as advisors on how to take courses, with the goal of improving students' teaching ability, practical skills for contributing to society, global skills, and transferable skills (highly versatile skills that can be used in a wide range of fields).
- Create opportunities for interaction with local citizens (graduates of this graduate school, undergraduate alumni, and others) at research planning, midterm, and final presentations, and improve the ability to respond flexibly with a broad perspective to the needs of the region and the times.

- For lectures and seminars, students will be evaluated on the content of reports, presentations and discussions given in class.
