The motto left by Shintaro and Toshi Tsuruoka, the founders of Tsuruoka Gakuen, "Be pure, be righteous, be courageous, and advance," has been passed down to the opening of Hokkaido Bunkyo University in 1999, and the torch of the founding spirit has been steadily passed down.
