(1) Support system for higher education (scholarships and tuition fee reductions provided by the Japan Student Services Organization)
The government and the Japan Student Services Organization have launched a higher education support system to provide support in the form of grant scholarships and tuition fee reductions to students who meet household income and academic standards, so that students do not have to give up on continuing their studies due to financial reasons.
From the 2025 academic year, large families (families with three or more dependent children) will also be eligible for this system. There is no household income standard for tuition fee reductions, etc., which is a form of support for large families, but if you meet grade standards and other criteria, you can receive tuition fee reductions, etc., regardless of your household income. (Please check in advance as the evaluation date will vary depending on the time of application.)
